Days Inn Washington DC/Gateway

BEDBUGS!! Spent 2 nights. 2nd morning I covered in bedbug bites. Had to put my luggage in garbage bags for the trip home, deep clean everything and hope they didn't survive to infect my home. Motel (not hotel) is loud at all hours with partying guests, TV's, etc. populated with shady characters and prostitution. TV did not work. Management utterly unresponsive. BEWARE!!

The rooms are ill kept and dirty, poorly maintained and in disrepair. The room did have a microwave and refrigerator and coffee maker but no coffee. The staff are not as helpful as they could be. There is a daily charge for parking which is not mentioned when booking a room. It boasts a Bar/Restaurant, which is not quite true, it has a Chinese restaurant attached which is only ok but no bar as it doesn't carry a license. There are a few fast-food places nearby. There appeared to be a few unsavory characters hanging around the hotel that no one seemed interested in moving on.

We asked for a non-smoking room. At first we got a smoking room. Towels weren't renewed daily, had to ask for new towels. Keycards: we stayed here for three nights. Had to ask 2 times for reactivation. Pool was closed. Website doesn't mention that. Disappointed. Breakfast was horrible. A few toasts and bagels, nothing to put on it. In weekend there were prefab tortillas. Those who ate them definitely got food poisoning. Disgusting. Bad coffee. Staff was quite helpful. Second room was clean. Good bed.
