JAILHOUSE INN

I admit, I wanted to stay at a wharf hotel, but I couldn't afford it. I stumbled across this hotel under unique experiences and it was perfect for me! I loved the decor and the location was even better than the wharf as we used the bus system - there was a stop next door, we came in on the ferry and took a trolley tour, both just a couple blocks down the street and it was across the street from the oldest restaurant in the country. Since it wasn't in the wharf, it was quieter and less congested so we could actually relax on the front porch. The rooms were a nice size and I loved the different room type offerings. The jail theme was subtle and yet still provided fun photo ops. And the best feature was breakfast. So many options that I could eat something different each morning, yet once I tried the waffle I ate them every day!! Another plug for the location is in order to get to the wharf area you'll walk through historic Newport and the best ice cream under the Umbrella Sky.

Great location, clean. Great staff.............................................................. ......................................................................... ......................................

Very nice clean well-kept inn good size room's great location within easy walking distance to downtown pier, restaurants', taverns, shoppes, but far enough away to avoid the noise & crowded streets of downtown, parking included with ample spaces short drive to mansions Bellevue ave. etc. The continental breakfast was great fresh everything & great selections the afternoon cookies are a nice touch & the price for what you are getting compared to other places make it well worth staying there will definitely return
