Quality Suites Convention Center

This hotel was the exact definition of average. The rooms are outdated with pealing wallpaper in spots and dirty carpets but I think that is normal for this type of property. Staff was friendly. Location was ideal just off the interstate. I would stay here again as the price was fair and the hotel was….well average.

I would return to this hotel. This location was free using my available points. I read the mixed reviews and took a chance. The property does need some upgrades; however, it was clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast has enough hot and cold options. There is also an airport shuttle. The outlet mall is across the street. There are a mix of stores, such as The Loft,Old Navy and Sephora. There are also many food options. The hotel is 20-30 minutes away from Charleston's Historic District and the was able to visit the International African American Museum depending on traffic. There several hotels clustered together with different price points, which prompted some of the reviews regarding safety. I did not have any issues. There were many families with children present.

The only positives are that it is close to the airport and the staff is super friendly, especially the woman in charge of breakfast. All the rest is negative: uncomfortable beds, very, very noisy and rundown rooms, watered down coffee. Neither my us and or myself slept well here. The 3 star review is because the staff is outstanding, otherwise it would be even lower. As a side note, I am disturbed that a Marriott hotel uses paper/plastic plates and cutlery for breakfast. So much waste for the landfill.
