Wyndham VR Ocean Ridge

I booked a nice condo for a friend’s wedding weekend. Paid in full months before arrival. The day of my intended arrival I received a phone call that they were over booked and I no longer had a reservation! I was speech less! I explained that I needed a place. I was told the closest would be in Charleston! I explained I was coming in for a wedding and that was unacceptable! The staff told me to come in and they would make arrangements to accommodate me. Upon arrival, no mention was made of the debacle with my original reservation, and I was checked in to another place. But first, I was charged a $250 credit card hold for incidentals?!? No offer of an adjustment in my reservation change. The room I was given literally was like a one room suite with a tiny living room and kitchen area. Needless to say, IF I ever return I will not rent from Wyndham.

Edisto Idland is a wonderful place. Quit and relaxed. I wish I could say the same about the Club Wyndham Resort. Before we arrived, we were called to let us know that housekeeping was behind. The first check-in went well but I was sent downstairs for the high-pressure request to go to a 90-minute sales pitch. Had to go there to get the keys to our unit. Went to the unit and just didn't have a good feeling upon walking in the unit. Have stayed in worse but not much. We saw the dead roaches beside the refrigerator and thought that maybe they had recently sprayed. Then I saw a live roach on Tuesday morning. I texted to have this looked at and I was told that maintenance would be over shortly (8:26 am). We decided to go out and texted to ask if maintenance would come in during our absence. This was at 11:10. When we got back, we didn't notice any evidence that the unit had been visited but the front desk said that maintenance did visit the unit. This morning (Thursday), I killed a live roach. The chairs in the living room were hard. I couldn't sit in them. The bathroom design is bad. The sink is very small. There is no good place to set your toiletries. When you get in the shower, there is no place to hang a towel to dry off after your shower. The bathroom is large, just poorly designed. I guess I would sum it up this way. The only room that had what you might compare to home would be the kitchen, the rest gets an unsatisfactory grade.

We went as a family for senior spring break because the senior wanted to go somewhere to play golf. The place was perfect for that. The accommodations were great and hospitality galore. The dad and three sons played golf every morning, even seeing a couple of alligators on the course. Everyone remarked “ best vacation ever”. We would go back again!
