HAMPTON INN COLUMBIA DOWNTOWN

This property was just ok. The staff were fabulous and did a great job, but the rooms were in need of a refresh. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The reason for the “poor” rating has to do with two things… 1. The air conditioning unit was set to 60, full blast, yet the room was still damp and dank. The unit also squealed all night long, and we got terrible sleep. 2. The tv didn’t work. This is where the fabulous staff comes in. They sent maintenance right away. Because it was move in for the university, we pains over $400 for one night. That’s just not right.

The room was damp and dank. Pillows smelled bad. Hallway smelled like cafeteria cleaning bucket. Staff were nice. Location convenient to convention center and downtown.

Staff was extremely warm and welcoming, especially Ms. Shaunie. They were extremely kind and were very accommodating for a youth conference we were putting on and were charitable to a group of hundreds of teens. They had waters out for the students to grab and genuinely were pulling all the stops for us.
