Sleep Inn Travelers Rest

Far less than expected. I don’t usually leave negative reviews but felt compelled to leave one here… At first look, all seemed well… the price was higher, close to $30 more for a single night over Hampton Inn… we were on the first floor, stomping and all kind of noise coming from up stairs… honestly it sounded like a residence with children who intentionally stomped while they walked… This noise was all we heard until late at night and started again at 5:00am… The room was large enough but the floors were sticky and the shower gels were empty but little bottles were left that appeared to have been refilled and used by previous guests… water at the breakfast bar was the same… what was supposed to be flavored water in a machine was simply plain water…perhaps it was replaced after it ran out!?! All in all, it just felt dirty. It was noisy and not overly friendly. We will not be back.

This was the nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Pasta sauce splattered in the microwave, mold in the bathroom, crap on the toilet seat, dirty and dusty tables. To top it off when you get to your room the latch is out and anyone could come in. WTF. I saw several rooms on my floor like that. Sleep in your car it’s safer

They charged us $30 extra to check in a half hour early and the room door did not work, the ac was broken, there was a hole in the wall where the phone should have been, there was no smoke detector and there was no swing latch lock on the door. The rep at the front desk was like a robot and would not acknowledge any of the details. She did switch our room and by the time we got in there it was after 3p and she should have refunded us the ridiculous $30 upcharge. The pool was advertised as open all year round but it was covered with a tarp and all the pool chairs were stacked like a blockade. The rooms and hallway had a bad smell. The food/restaurant area was closed with caution tape.
