Americas Best Value Inn Mitchell

Do not ever stay at the Corn Palace Inn in Mitchell SD. Travelpass booked it for us. We asked them for the Comfort Inn and they booked us into this place. The room was so bad and smelled so bad we couldn't even stay the night and they refused to give us our money back. There were people sitting outside the rooms smoking cigarettes and looking pretty shady. It was the worst hotel we have ever been to. We wound up going down the road to the Holiday Inn express and got the last room there costing us an additional $245. Travelpass is not a site I would ever use again.

Had to book an overnight as decent hotels full. Pathetic! Got a room - people in it. Meanwhile, the same thing was happening to another party! Took us to another - filthy & sink clogged. Found one that was open - reeked with rancid smoke, carpet filthy and tub didn't drain. Tolerated the night. Breakfast skimpy. Couldn't leave fast enough. Should be shut down by the state!

Quiet, comfortable, nice size room and more! I was going to be late in arriving at my scheduled time; I called back and had a friend call the Inn.. She returned my call a few minutes later! "You cannot believe how kind, helpful and caring these people are!" They had told her that if he comes in after ten, 10:00pm there is a black mail box with all he needs in there ... also number on door to call and we will be right in to let him into his room and insure he is comfortable. I had asked for a first floor room and that is where I was put in..... I am 86 years old and a little crippled..... You just couldn't go wrong staying here...and then, visit the Corn Palace for more fun.
