Holiday Inn Rushmore Plaza

Very nice hotel and bar. We had a great corner room #728. We enjoyed cocktails in the bar every night and had a great female server on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. The other days the server’s were less friendly and rather curt. It was a little bump in an otherwise very good stay. However the funnel cake fries were outstanding.

The hotel is run down, obviously Hilton bought and budget remodeled the building. If you look closely things are falling apart. The room was disgusting, stains on the carpet, marks on the walls, mold above the shower on the bathroom and in between tiles. Also the AC barely worked and would not cool the temperature to what you set it at. The “Famous Golden Bison” restaurant charges $20 a plate for preheated food… and to top it all off when they’re staff texted me through their messaging system asking how the stay was when I told them they said they would call to check in, they never did… I will never stay at another Hilton property again. If you’re looking I’d take the Hyatt. Won’t make the same mistake twice.

Good downtown location. Checked in 4th of July, desk clerk not welcoming, almost surly. Dined in restaurant, great lobby food was average. This place does not accept cash and will charge you an extra 3% like it or not- even for debit. We will not support this kind of nickle and diming business for below average stay.
