Travelodge Spearfish

This is no longer Crow Peak Lodge, it is now called Lookout Mountain Lodge. New ownership and management, the dynamic duo are currently renovating. Late night travelers are accommodated with a lock box next to each room for room key access. My husband and I are habitually late travelers and it was so relieving to be greeted with a fresh room and wake up in the beautiful Black Hills. The vibe is a Family Vacation (if you have not seen the movie, I recommend you do, the original and new version). When making reservations, do it the Gen X way, call them and then paper map it there.

We attempted to stay here but certainly didn't work out. The room had a fair appearance so we thought maybe ... After dining we went back to the room and found no water at all. There is no manager on site so of course we left and checked into a more common motel. Other family thought it was worth a try but not. It appears to be a weekly or monthly rental based on other quests we spoke with.

The new owners are not adequate. The management brought in is horrible. There was no notice of stopping monthly rentals and they are now NOT pet friendly. A 30 day monthly rental was now 28 days. Was a good place to go if you ended up in a hard place and needed time to find a pet friendly apartment in Spearfish. I would not recommend with the new owners.
