This hotel has been one that we have stayed at before. It’s a good location, near restaurants and Walmart. This visit we found the hotel was being renovated, which is a good thing. One half of the rooms were closed off and being worked on. It was just a one night stay, just to sleep, so it didn’t really matter to us. The check in was quick, and breakfast was good and ready early. We will stay here again, hopefully when all of the work is done.

This property was VERY tired. While clean and well stocked with towels, the mattresses had deep grooves in the middle, the furniture was old, and the TV’s were the size of computer monitors. Not much soundproofing between floors; sounded like a herd of elephants stomping around above us. We needed a place for sleep and this offered shelter from the storm, but that’s about it. One positive was the very kind, helpful front desk. At check out staff reported they would be going to be doing a major renovation. It definitely needs one.

The location of this Sleep Inn is very convenient right off I-24 and midway for us from Iowa to Florida. We stopped in on a Friday night mid-March and were greeted pleasantly by staff (Stuart). He was most helpful with recommendations for places to eat as well. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept well. Breakfast in the morning (we were up early and were down at 7AM) was OK. There were biscuits and gravy and sausage links, waffle batter, cereal, yogurt, fruit (a few bananas and oranges), bagels and oatmeal packets. The coffee was empty and there was no one immediately available yo refill so people weee drinking decaf or passing on coffee. I decided on oatmeal, then looked and found the hot water spickot on the big coffee pot. I tried the biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were not light and flaky (maybe a little old) and were OK after soaking up gravy. My husband always had waffles and was very happy with his breakfast, after adding a peach yogurt and banana (other than no coffee.) the stay was great except the breakfast was not what I expected or hoped. And no coffee was not a great way to start the day with our long drive ahead.
