Econo Lodge

This was the dirtiest motel room I've ever stayed in. the floors were filthy; my bed sheets were stained red and had gunk on them. when I requested clean sheets they said they were out. the microwave was so dirty we couldn't use it. they had no remote for the television and we had roaches on the wall. The front desk could barely understand english,

Here`s the truth ! some rooms are good...some are very bad....smell of tobacco and ceilings are nicotene stained ! i was tasting nocotene all night. the rooms to the right [ non smoking ] are a lot better, clean and white ceilings ! the breakfast was ok, nothing special. but if you want a good night sleep, choose another hotel. constant noise, coloured americans argueing till 4 a.m. , motorway noise, helicopter noise...YES, helicopter noise, nieghbours banging most nights, workers getting up for work at all times..on and on and on..also the coloured receptionest had a bad attitude to the job ! so to summerise....CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL, NOT THIS ONE.

We were a little worried after reading previous reviews, however we found the Econolodge to be good value for money and reflective of the price you pay. The concierge staff were gracious and attentive. We forgot our hairdryer and needed an iron and as soon as we requested, this need was immediately met. The room was spacious..we booked a smoking room (I was a smoker when we booked,but have since quit) so I found the smell of stale smoke strangley offputting but that was not the fault of the hotel. They offered a very reasonable shuttle service to Graceland and the airport. The breakfast was ample however on a couple of daysthe breakfast service was very unprepared even though it was after the start of breakfast(no coffee, butter,cereal or plates were out) .. the location was too far to walk on an evening or night (around 2 miles) to Beale street. But taxis are cheap and through the day there is a trolley buss on maddison or the 56 on union. We were happy with our stay and would return if on the same budget.
