Holland Hotel

What happened to this hotel ? Talking to locals, I heard that the new buyers investment money fell through and it really showed on our last visit. The room smells terribly of Pine-Sol, and there are stains on the furniture and the carpet. The bar and the restaurant are no longer open. Sadly, the energy of how it was when I went 10 years ago is gone. However, Miguel, the front desk employee was amazing and without him I’m not sure we would’ve had an all right experience. The bed however, was comfortable, but the place needs a deep clean and a remodel. Hopefully, they can maintain the integrity of the building in the character of what it used to be. And I’m hoping that they do find a way to invest in the building and make it special again.

For all of the people who have this hotel 5 stars, I would like to know which rooms they stayed in. We stayed here for the history and architecture of the building. We were so disappointed after paying $179 a night. At the very least clean the carpets! On a more positive note, the employees were pleasant and very nice. The little gal at the check in desk was a sweetie. This could be a really nice place but it does not match what they advertise on their website.

Room carpet was absolutely filthy! Restaurant and bar not open. We would have left but they will not refund money closer in than 5 days out.
