Super 8 Motel - Edinburg/McAllen/Central

Holy moly how does this hotel have 3 stars? This had to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my entire life and I am well traveled so that's saying a lot for me. From the moment I walked into my room, I was overwhelmed by the smell of mold. The rooms were all "booked" for the night despite the fact that I saw literally no cars in the parking lot which made me feel uneasy just seeing my rental out there in the open. There was no hot water and not even a liner for the shower curtain so it did absolutely nothing to keep the water in. There were stains on the chairs and furniture. Stains on the bed. I had to sleep in my clothes on top of the top sheet because I felt uncomfortable sleeping under the covers. In the middle of the night I woke up to go to the bathroom and when I turned on the light a TON of cockroaches scattered away. So it was also bug infested! As I sat in the bathroom I watched a roach crawl across the wall in front of me. I have never been so uncomfortable to stay at a hotel I PAID FOR in my entire life. I cannot emphasis how awful it was enough. Just spend the extra money and go somewhere else! I had to do a deep wash of all my clothes because when I returned home they still smelled of mold!! The person at the front desk was very nice, but that doesn't even begin to compensate for the horrible experience I had here. Stay far away!!

What a piece of work this place is.. If I could give 0 stars I would but I had to pick one. From mold to bugs to horrible staff.. I have a health condition and had to cancel my reservation due to this place being horrible and No refund No call back or email from The Owner.. He is never there.. And the front desk does Not have authority do to anything... Save time and your money Best Western Plus was cheaper and nicer..

Had people party in the room right beside ours all night long. Called the front desk but the girl wasn’t willing to do anything about it at first. After a few hours she called the police and they came 3 times but did nothing but shake their hands and tell them they should be a bit quieter. After 5 minutes of the police leaving it started all over again. With Covid 19 they had too many people in the room and also should not of been booked right beside our room. At 5am they were still screaming and drinking so we just checked out of our room and went on our way.
