Front desk employee was courteous. Room was spacious and clean. Reasonable price

While definitely an older motel room was spotless clean and very good bed.

(1) I don't see why I had to do the whole check in process when I had done the pre-check-in via online? I had to give everything all over again. I am even unsure if I was billed twice? (2) There were people just loitering in the lobby. I am unsure who these people were but with their appearance, they made the time in the lobby a little tense. (3) While checking in, I heard some screaming/shouting outside and since my other half was sitting in the car, I was having serious concerns for her safety and just wanted to get checked in asap, so I could get out there! Since the person checking me in, didn't even want to acknowledge there were people screaming outside! (The GM stated in his reply to my complaint that if I had let the front desk know, they would have dealt with the screaming/arguing "immediately") How she would have taken care of the situation "immediately" would have been a good trick, since she is in a wheelchair and didn't even want to acknowledge it to begin with! Anything short of calling law enforcement, or "if" there were other staff on property, that she "could" have called, but didn't! (4) When going to our room, there were cat litter boxes in the walkway as well as other debris. So, before even getting to our room, this was not going well!! (5) When trying to get into our room, one of our keys didn't even work! (6) (Another reply to my complaint from the GM, "the room will be cold, if it is cold outside") At what point during the "pre-check-in" process we did, knowing we are coming, do you think that maybe you should go turn the heat on? THEN maybe you would have discovered that the heat doesn't do a damn thing! We sat in the room for "over an hour", waiting for the room to warm up, while my other half sat right next to the heater to "try" to keep warm! Over an hour and the room did NOT warm up! (7) (GM replied that other rooms never complain of bugs) I don't give a damn "no one else" ever complained of "ROACHES or BUGS!" I had killed TWO right by the mirror as you walk into the bathroom and my half, had killed one on the ceiling, having to stand on the bed to get it! No one else probably ever complained, as they are probably living there and just accept it! Animal crap is going to attract bugs. Food left outside are going to attract bugs. People living on the property are going to attract bugs! And I know they are living on property by the cat litter and other debris, as well as the notice in the lobby, "NO VISITORS ALLOWED"! (8) There were burn holes in the comforter as well as stains on the sheets! (9) There were people just walking around, that I truly believe were not staying there as they did not seem to have a destination in mind. They were just walking from floor to floor and along the walkways. So, with all the issues stated above, YES, we just decided to LEAVE! There is no possible way you could have rectified this! I should not have to have my firearm on me in concern for our safety! And I do work in Law Enforcement and when these things have me on edge, I can only imagine how my other half felt?!
