Crowne Plaza Houston Downtown

THE PICTURES ARE DECEIVING!!! It does not matter how much money you’re trying to save, do not room here. I’ve seen much better rooms in the middle of nowhere in the Midwest. They charge $52 a night for valet (not sure if they mention that in the buying process) so don’t rent or drive if you plan on staying here, it looks like they took items from a garage sale and put it in a hotel room not to mention we spotted a bug first day. Do with this info as you will, but you’ve been warned.

Front desk staff and restaurant staff were friendly, welcoming, and amazing! Room was clean and comfortable. Rooms are a little dated but nice. Hallway carpet is a little dated and musty but not a big deal since you don't spend much time walking to your room. For the price and location, it's a great value.

This hotel was just what I needed—close to downtown, excellent room quality, clean , quiet, and well staffed. The coffee bar on the second level (Buffalo Bayou, which also serves evening cocktails), has good coffee along with some takeaway items such as fruit and local bread. I didn’t have an included breakfast ($15-$30 on the restaurant menu), BUT I discovered that for $5 to $7, I could order a tasty breakfast sandwich at Buffalo Bayou. Yes, the hotel is pricey, but if you can afford it, it’s a lovely place to stay.
