DOUBLETREE DFW AIRPORT NORTH

★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was disappointing. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel offers a large parking lot. However, that’s where the positives mostly end. The hotel is clearly showing its age. The rooms are outdated and in need of a complete renovation. During our stay, only one elevator was working, which resulted in long wait times. Breakfast was also underwhelming. While it’s nice that you can order a freshly made omelet from the chef, the rest of the breakfast selection was very limited. After 9:00 a.m., most of the hot food looked dried out and unappetizing. The biggest disappointment was the swimming pool. With outside temperatures reaching 107°F (42°C), the pool was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. Unfortunately, it appeared to be poorly maintained. There were insects swimming in the water. Based on our own observations and information from a professional pool maintenance company, this may indicate that the pool water was not properly balanced, with inadequate pH and/or chlorine levels. In addition, much of the pool furniture was old and damaged. As a result, we did not feel it was safe or appropriate to use the pool. Overall, we do not feel this property meets the standards we expect from a DoubleTree by Hilton. The outdated condition and lack of maintenance do not reflect the quality typically associated with the Hilton brand. Until significant renovations and improvements are made, we would not choose to stay here again.

The entire hotel is just run down. In the room there were yellow stains on the ceiling, part of the popcorn ceiling was falling off on to the floor, the carpet was stained in places and the air vents were dirty. Room is dated, but that wasn't the issue. You can have a dated, yet still well taken care of room and this was NOT that. There were two cockroaches that were in the bathrooms too, so we didn't eat anything from the breakfast to have an opinion on that. I can't believe that this hotel carries the DoubleTree name.
