Hyatt Summerfield Suites Dallas/Las Colinas

Good and clean room pretty much as expected with the only exceptions being that they downgraded my room from a king/king to king/queen. Also it’s not a hotel, it’s a motel with access to your room being outside in the courtyard. There is no gate and you don’t have to go through the lobby, you can enter straight from the street. The place feels like an apartment complex. Breakfast was as expected, it’s included so you can’t expect much quality.

*EDIT/UPDATE* *** I reached out to Hyatt customer service regarding my stay. They stated the hotel manager would be in contact with me. NO ONE ever contacted me. I called Hyatt Customer Service asking when would someone reach out; the agent stated 72hours from the checkout date. It’s been 2 weeks, without any updates or solutions. Incredibly disappointed with Hyatt.*** I arrived at the hotel around 5:00pm. I waited in a line to check-in for about 15-20 minutes. Once I get to the desk to check-in, the front desk woman (Amy) says “let me check the room, to see if it’s ready.” OKAY. She’s gone for about 15 minutes; she comes back and tells me the room needs to be cleaned, it will take about 30 minutes for someone to clean it. I gave her grace and said okay, because she was short staffed. 30 minutes comes and goes. She goes to check what’s going on; NO ONE HAS CLEANED THE ROOM. The room that was assigned to me was never put on the cleaning schedule (according to Amy). I then learn, all the housekeeping staff was gone for the day and the General Manager was gone. I sat IN THE LOBBY FOR 3 HOURS WAITING FOR MY ROOM THAT I BOOKED DIRECTLY THROUGH HYATT. The front desk woman tried to show/offer me a room that had an active water leak (I declined her offer). After being in the lobby for almost 4 hours, the woman finally checks to see if anyone has double booked a room or if anyone has cancelled. LUCKILY, someone did double book a room; she put me in that one. The room was decent; But my towels and washcloths were DIRTY/DINGY. Apparently housekeeping folded the towels so the stains wouldn’t show.

Trying to share some positives because of how much negativity on here, as a caution for others where we did not heed warnings - Hotel is great location for restaurants and highway access, great to have friendly front desk staff and access to complimentary cable TV and breakfast options. This place otherwise is dirty…really, really dirty. Absolutely not Hyatt quality, regretted staying here for work without moving hotels because I was itching and waking up constantly with bug anxiety even after switching rooms. Parking lots are dark, vibe is kinda sketchy and louder than a true business or family accommodation would be for a week night. Pool could’ve been a perk but doesn’t open until 11a so it’s not possible for even a smaller morning workout before heat of Dallas summer days. First and second rooms plus main areas had issues, didn’t improve after attempted to address with staff - Walls and doors were filthy, switches covered in grime, chewed finger nails in carpet, carpets stained, bedsheets and towels stained. Was actually grateful for the dirty curtains because I didn’t want to look outside either. Shockingly the frig was cleanest spot in rooms and main areas of property. Looks like they attempted recent renovations but aren’t keeping up with quality cleaning and maintenance, just deteriorating. Desperately needs attention to clean corners & walls, add mattress covers & bleaching linens, deep cleaning carpeted floored and carpeted baseboards with repairs to floor transitions , and get rid of as much upholstery and fabric bed skirts as possible - given it’s not going to be deep cleaned regularly. I feel bad for the people who work here, because they will ultimately get punished for the all-up quality issues and trying to take care of people.
