Americas Best Value Inn Medical Center / Lubbock

For the price, it was fine. Seemed clean. Front desk person was friendly. Kinda noisy due to a busy road. Shady characters in the parking lot. Could pull right up to the room so that was a plus. Provided soap and shampoo. Remote didn’t work.

We stayed in room 101. It is located only 5 feet from major freeway.Traffic noise Impossible to sleep at night. Asked for another room but told no other rooms available. Deadbolt door lock disabled. Not safe! TV picture so noisy could not read writing. No clothes hangers in clothes closet. Clothes spread out on floor or on bed. Iron and ironing board only available at reception desk. Hair dryer only available at reception desk. SHOWER NOT WORKING!!! Could only take a bath. Strong smell of disinfectant in room. Impossible to believe ABVI has this property under their name. Completely lost their reputation.

We stayed one night at this hotel while in town visiting a family member who was in the hospital at University Medical Center. The check in was quick and easy. Entry to the room was from the outside and we were able to park just outside our door. This is an older place and showed it's age somewhat. But it was clean and comfortable. The reception on the television wasn't too good at times, but that didn't matter to us. When we checked out we were going to get some ice for our cooler, but their ice maker was down so the desk clerk filled a bag for us from their refrigerator so we didn't have to go somewhere else and buy a bag. The price was reasonable, it was comfortable, we felt safe and we would stay here again.
