Courtyard by Marriott Mesquite

I tend to enjoy Marriott facilities when I travel or business. I came up to Dallas for one night for a concert did not figure that I would need much. However, this is probably the worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed in. Through reservations through Bonvoy I requested a walk-in shower due to my disability they confirmed I had a walk-in shower. When I go to check-in the reception, she really didn’t care about anything happen to do with work but I wanted to confirm that I had a walk-in shower to which she did. So then I go to my room and unpack my overnight bag and set up my computer because I have some work to do before I go to the concert and leaving in the am. Now that I’m leaving for the concert. I walk into the bathroom. It’s not a walk-in shower it’s a tub. This is confirmed twice that it was a walk-in shower. Then I go to use the toilet and the toilet doesn’t flush flush it again still doesn’t flush. You have to hold it down flush. I got to call the front desk. The phone doesn’t work. I accidentally hit 911 on the phone. It still doesn’t work. I go down to speak to somebody. Nobody can be found. There’s one night stand in between the two queen beds the drawer will not stay closed every time you open it. It creeps back open so if you happen to get out out of the bed on the side of the nightstand, you’re potentially gonna hit your arms/legs on it. The TV when it came on a bunch of static, been trying to change channels. It finally came to a channel and for as big as the room is and as much money as Marriott has and charges they give you a very small TV for the big room. The shower, the ADA rail is loose. The shower had to be washed out because there was I’m just gonna say hair. I don’t know where it came from but hair definitely not mine. Wallpaper is peeling away. There’s only one trashcan in the whole room and it’s all the way on the other side away from the bathroom Coming back after the concert attempting to go to sleep the AC is making noises all night making it impossible to get a good night sleep trying to explain this to the representative at the desk from Colombia. She didn’t understand what’s going on.

Start with the positives: staff was very friendly and helpful. Entire hotel was outdated. On day two of my stay, discovered cockroaches in my room. Moved rooms. Second room had a TV and all lights near the bed not working. Bathroom was not clean. Breakfast was super expensive (close to $30 for eggs, bacon and toast that was not really good(. Would not recommend. Oh, and the machines in workout room were out of order.

This place is DISGUSTING. MOLD MOLD MOLD in every room. Stayed here for a work trip and couldn’t leave for another hotel or I would’ve. Absolutely disgraceful to have switch rooms TWICE and still mold in the rooms. All three rooms I went into smelled like a locker room and had mold growing somewhere. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY. They should tear this place down and start over. Would give less than 1 star if I could
