Days Inn Mt Pleasant

I was terribly dissatisfied with my experience during my stay to spend Christmas with my family. Upon checking in, I was informed that There was a double booking under my name. I was suprised, The clerk told me no worries. Proceeded to my room and instantly dissapointed. Smelled like smoke, floor had horrible stains, mold around the bathtub, and later discovered the toilet would not flush! I proceeded to put all the towels on the floor so I could walk around. It was late and I was tired. Next night I informed the clerk of the situation and he told me I could have another room. Moved to the other room. Not much better? Trash left in the room from previous occupants. Again put towels down. Next day I left. Upon receiving my credit card charge, I saw there was a 70.10 charge for a non cancellation fee from the double booking! I have been fighting this unfair charge for a month now and the Hotel will not do anything? It was a horrible experience and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. BTW I’m an 80 year old woman, and don’t rent hotel rooms very often. But I will do all I can to ward anyone else about this hotel. The family members who live there are going to do the same. Beware!

On a road trip, booked this for brand reputation. Arrived late in the evening or I would have just cancelled my reservation and eaten the no refund. When I opened the door of the room, I was immediately assaulted with overwhelming smell of stale tobacco smoke, so strong it burned my nose and throat. I’ve slept in worse in Vietnam, but damn, I didn’t have to pay for it. The little door swing guard had been broken and was non functional, Security minus. The carpet is old, dingy, ratty and stained stained, and likely hasn’t been cleaned in years ( likely a big source of the smoke odor). The kind of carpet you don’t want to even touch with bare feet. Tile in bathroom floor was cracked. Tub grout was pulling away and discolored, likely with mold. Tub hardware was rusty. Wall paper was peeling in the bathroom, door trim was missing revealing old Sheetrock with rusty nails. Furniture worn and marred. Being curious, I peered behind the tv/ refrigerator/ microwave cabinet and the armoire, and, as expected there was enough dust to tell the room hadn’t been deep cleaned for proms couple of years. The bed skirt on one bed had a large stain suggestive of body fluids. More and more I came to realize this place wasn’t fit for the roaches that probably live in the walls. Thankfully, the bed linens appeared clean. But that was the only saving feature of this horrible hotel.

The entrance to the hotel is beside the Exxon gas station however, it looks more like you are driving though the parking lot of the station to get to the hotel behind it. The front desk is difficult to locate because there is no signage so your only clue is the overhang to drive under. At 5:00 p.m. the maids are still cleaning rooms on the second floor. The property is in fair to poor condition and needs much attention, repair and upgrades. The concrete walkways and stucco finish are chipping as is the paint. The metal stairs are rusted and rotten. The room is no smoking but it has a odor of smoke. There are people living here at the property as they rent rooms by the week. These guests have their shoes outside their rooms, chairs from inside the rooms sitting outside to smoke, the walkways are littered with ashes and cigarette butts. the room itself other than the smell is clean. the linens are clean and the pillow are fluffy and the beds are comfortable. The delight of the property is the front desk lady. She had useful information about the Choice privileges program and upcoming promotions. Also, out television sound was very low and we were unable to turn it up. She came quickly and fixed it for us. The lobby itself and the breakfast area are clean and nice.
