Flying roaches inside motel room. Mattress was supported by wooden slats that protruded from the edges of the bed causing scratches to my legs. WiFi, ice machine was broken. Manager was rude, uncaring

After driving 4 hours from Denton on 8/29/2015 I made a reservation using Priceline's "Tonight Only' feature at 11:24PM. I did not care about amenities, I just needed a place to lay my head for a couple of hours and a place to shower that was close to Nacogdoches Medical Center, as my sister was admitted there earlier in the evening. When I left the hospital and reached the hotel a little before 1:00AM, the lobby was dark and I rang the bell as the sign instructed me to. I was greeted by a woman (JoAnn) who I obviously had woken up and she was hands down the rudest woman I have ever had to deal with. The only greeting I received was her barking at me that she did not have any single rooms available, only doubles. I told her that was fine, that I had already made a reservation through Priceline, which she then proceeded to tell me that I did not have a reservation and I would have to pay for a double room. It wasn't until I showed her the confirmation on my phone that she let me enter the lobby from outside. When she got behind the front desk, she found the reservation information Priceline had sent her. After she read the details, she began muttering to herself that they needed to be taken off of Priceline's list of hotels, slamming cabinets shut and ultimately refused to honor the reservation made through Priceline because it was for the price of a single room. If you have used the "Tonight Only" deal feature Priceline offers then you know to get the discounted price you do not have a choice in the type of room you receive and must click the "Selected by hotel" room option. When I explained this to her, she told me that was not possible; they do not choose the rooms and she did not have a room to give me at the price 'guaranteed' by Priceline.
Yes, I could have paid the extra money to pay for a double room, but at that point I wanted nothing to do with this motel. To me that would be rewarding her for her behavior and leading her to believe that it is acceptable to treat customers in such a horrible manner. Thankfully the wonderful nurses and staff at Nacogdoches Medical Center brought me a cot and let me stay in my sister's room.

After reading some of the other reviews I wasn't sure I was in the right place or not. I had no issues with them. Admittedly, the way I travel doesn't require reservations, I call from about 30 minutes away to check for open rooms and then come in. But I found them friendly and polite. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Also the choices rotates daily, I thought that was unique. It is located in a convenient area, quiet at night and about a mile from a wide range of restaurants and quick foods. I will come back.
