Holiday Inn Richardson

1st of all, do not pay extra at booking for breakfast. NOOOOO! The breakfast is not as nice as the free breakfast you get at every hotel in America. Coffee is only available during breakfast hours. No decaf. Super basic and not worth the room add on or $14.95 a person. 2nd, while the staff here is friendly and tries to help, there are not enough staff employed to run a hotel. Long line at check in with one woman working. The property inside and out was dirty. No trash recepticle when entering the hotel (like every other hotel in America) or even in the lobby. No trash cans does NOT equal no trash. The breakfast area had food and litter on the floor from the day before when they opened for breakfast. The lobby bathrooms were always dirty in the mornings and there was never soap. Our room had tissues on the floor. We ran out of bath towels and toilet tissue!!! When we asked we got a "sorry." 3rd, safety must not be a priority as a large light fixture was floating in the pool attached to the wall by a cord. We would not let the grandkids swim as I know electricity and water do not mix. Just sad. They should do better.

We’re calling our room “the sideways” because not a damn thing sits straight. This is not what I would call a safe location for a family or single female traveler. How this hotel has a 3star rating blows my mind.
