BEST WESTERN PLUS HILL COUNTRY

This area seemed safe enough as I was there 4 days and walked around as I always do to survey so to speak the area. This BW plus location is in a kind of business park area and enough stuff to find on the 281 frontage roads so it is imo a great location. The price was real good. But at the same time it IS off season as I could tell with SA having many good prices all around for the most part and I am sure many just are not going to TX in the summer of course as they head for the NW,NE,Northern Cali, etc. Phoenix where I am from is similar. Any way how is this a PLUS. (And I saw this at the peoria grand ave BW Plus as well last November) I just don't know how these properties are getting that mark with such lack of care in the rooms. It is blatant false advertising. I would LOVE (and that is where I actually may just end up lol) to be a franchisee as I would NEVER allow this stuff to go on. Diry floors real bad, a tub that felt it was going to cave in, windows that clearly had a leak somewhere and you couldn't see out them because moisture getting beyond the glaze and into the double panes, an AC filter that was a MESS with caked on and so much debris/ residual dust. I check for these things cause I am in home repair as my trade so how in the hell is this kind of SAFETY issue getting overlooked. You all acted like it was the end of the world during covid with cleaning. And now you don't even have the decency for a (somewhat) clean air conditioner filter. DO BETTER..........PLEASE!!!!!!! It is really starting to bother me when I am still paying for a room and stay at this brand ALOT and I see simple things like this not attended to. And your staff minus the blond cool cleaning south american woman with the AC/DC shirt acted like ZOMBIES. No life or warm introduction when I checked in. I am not looking for anyone to bow down to me or any of that, but I shouldn't feel like....... I AM DOING SOMETHING WRONG with the cold and indifferent reception energy I received at check in. Like they were annoyed at me for checking in. I mean I am driving someimes 10 hours or more I am FRAZZLED as can be. I don't need to feel worse. My mind isn't always on point from the crazy driving and I need to feel welcome. And I never did the whole time I was there and felt like an annoyance over anything else. Sorry for the rant I really am but I am sick of PAYING to get this chaotic product.

Overall… The state was very pleasant with accommodating staff, good breakfast options, comfortable beds, great water pressure. There was a large group of guests that arrived after midnight on our second night that made the hallway noise a bit excessive but the hotel can’t control that. The room appeared to be mostly clean except for the tile bathroom floor under the counter, which was kind of gross. The breakfast staff were extremely helpful at keeping everything start with a fairly large number of guests. I do wish there was more seating in the breakfast area… Not enough to accommodate everyone that was there on Saturday or Sunday morning.

Housekeeping staff was great! Breakfast Attendant was spectacular! Front staff minus Barry was HORRIBLE! Killed two roaches smoke detector wailing in my room someone opened my door while I was on the toilet Graveyard Front desk Attendant BEN threatened to have me removed for telling others about my experience
