Knights Inn San Marcos

They have heard the villager's cries. It is remodeled and nice now. New painted inside and out, new carpet, new drapes, new shower, new bathroom floor (real tile too). I was quite pleased. We came on a holiday weekend and the price was up, but so were the competitors. I think it will have a new name too because Knights Inn is beside the Parkside Inn sign.

The room was terrible. The carpet was dirty (my wife caimed it attacked her) and the bathroom floor was sticky. The bedspread had a "suspicious" looking stain on it. We stayed all of 15minute while I looked for another hotel. Thank goodness we found one. This place need to be condemned! AAA needs to pull their rated and Hotel.com needs to correct the discription to remain credible.

I stayed at the Parkside Inn and Suites in San Marcos October 7, 2006, with my mother when she came to visit me, after she urged me to, saying that a hotel would be better than my dorm. The hotel turned out to be equal than the worst dorms on campus. There were dead bugs (crickets, cockroaches, spiders) everywhere, even in the toilet that had a note over the toilet saying, "Sanitized for Your Protection." Now, I can get over dead bugs, but I can't get over yellow stains on white towels I'm supposed to use and sheets I'm supposed to sleep on. Most of the stains were very subtle, but there was a wash cloth that had the biggest, nastiest yellow stain on it. There was also hair all over the floor and shower curtain...I cringed through my entire shower. At the end of the night, after laying in bed for about an hour, I started to get really nauseous and a slight fever. This continued until the following night and I'm convinced that this place actually gave me something. Anyways, the morning the next morning the maid knocked on the door at 10 (despite the do not disturb sign on the door), and then the office called at 11 and told us we needed to get out. We were never told when to check out. My advice to someone looking for a hotel....DO NOT stay here. If this is your last resort, make sure you get a room that has been cleaned recently.
