Casa Bella Hotel and Suites

The good: Location is fantastic! Easy walk to public beach on Gulf side & to "scenic walkway" on bay side, Irish bar right across the street. Easy drive to anything & everything else one could want while on vacation. Room was comfortable! Great bed and pillows; great water pressure in the shower; plenty of room to spread out; great balcony overlooking pool and canal; in-room microwave & mini-fridge. Rate was exceptionally low! We caught the gap between the exodus of "winter Texans" and the onslaught of spring-breakers. $35 per night! Fantastic!!!! The bad: Third-party booking sites all show this hotel as a pet-friendly, with free parking. It is not either of those. Front desk clerk (middle-aged-or-older woman) was horrid. She told me that our reservation had not yet come through from the third-party booking site & was unable/unwilling to check me in even with proof of my booking. After 10 minutes or so of no progress and little effort on her part, she finally said, "You'll just have to wait." I said, "Wait for what? And where, in the car? And for how long? No, I don't think so." At that point, a youngish man stepped in to mitigate the damage and he got us into a room fairly quickly. Pool hours posted as 10AM to 11PM, but the gates were all locked with padlocks. I went to front desk to ask, but nobody was there. The next day, I ran into the same man who helped check us in, & in about 10 minutes, he unlocked the gate for me. The hot tub was cold (same temp as the main pool) and the entire pool area was shabby. So disappointed. No coffee machine, cups, or ice bucket in the room. No working ice machine anywhere on the property. Coke machine near the pool gate took my dollar. Summary: Typical budget hotel with cheap furnishings and nonexistent amenities, priced correctly at the rate I paid ($35 + $7 per day "resort fee"). Okay for us as we don't want or need much and don't spend much time in the room anyway. Just don't expect much and you'll be fine. And no, we would not stay here again.

Cheap and cheerful! Comfortable spacious room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool and waterway. I enjoyed the small balcony. Saturday night special:$35 it’s the off season. I will definitely be coming back. Hotel staff was polite and friendly.

They are Scammers!! We reserved and tried to pay over the phone but were told they couldn’t take payment at that time. Yet was assured they wouldn’t give our room away. Cost was like 40 a night. Drove over 4 hours to get there only to be told they gave our room away but had another room at 309.00 for the same night. Same type of room. So basically it is a bait and switch deal. Another couple traveling in our group was told their room was going to be 409 a night because their room was given away. They do this on busy weekends when other hotels are sold out trying to force you to pay the higher price. We all had to drive over 40 miles to find another hotel.
