Sands Motel

Knew I made a mistake when I pulled on to the parking lot. Really run-down property. Confusion at check-in and then somebody yelling outside my room as soon as I got there saying some MFer couldn't live here anymore. The tile floor was dirty and sticky. Threw my socks away when I left. Leftover used bar of soap left in the shower. If this is your only choice, sleep in your car!

Very basic motel. No extras or frills. Bed was super comfy and that's all that mattered to us for this overnight stop. Will.stay again. Can't beat the price. A true bargain. Very convenient to I 10 and Loves truck stop is right across the way for gas and coffee before you hit the road again.

There must be one room that gets the 3-4 star reviews. Ours was a 1-2. For the price, expecting clean and a bed..got THE BED, not the Clean: dirty greasy footprints in tub.. should tell the "contractors" to take off boots before shower! Dismantled heater, parts piled against wall..did get it to work, Sort of after much tinkering. One outlet with 6way splitter for while room, rodent? Hole in corner of baseboard, torn linens on bed, mildew/mold seeping up thru laminate floor seams and up on ceiling trim above shower. This whole town is stuck in 1962..pass it by is my advice.
