Green Tree Inn

Conveniently located adjacent to Highway 287, the Green Bird Inn is a modest little motel that provides a pleasant alternative to the larger chain hotels in Vernon. The rooms are a bit dated, but the prices are affordable. Keep in mind, the highway is so close to the hotel and such a busy roadway that you'll hear traffic all night. The windows don't buffer the exterior sound very much. But it's still a great little place to stay if you're traveling on a budget.

Absolutely disgusting and unsafe motel! I arrived before 6pm when it was still daylight in freezing temperatures yet the lady behind the desk wanted me to check in through the tiny slot in the window. I asked her if she would open the door since it was cold to which she reluctantly obliged. Mind you, I am a solo female traveler. The first room I was given was disgusting in every.single.way. Most of all there was huge blood and urine stains on the mattress….huge! I’m attaching photos. There were signs of bedbug feces in the lamp shade pleats, the microwave and mini fridge had not been wiped clean either. But, how on earth housekeeping can put clean bedding on top of such a discussing mattress is unfathomable. I complained to the lady at the window and she reluctantly moved me to a different room. The second room didn’t even have a working deadbolt!!!! The owner came to the room to inspect it with a scan of WD40. He then told me that the door had the chain lock…as if that was sufficient. I was mind blown that he suggested a solo female stay in a room with no working deadbolt!!!! Who does that?….Absolutely no regards for patron safety at all. Trust me…do not stay here. You can thank me later.

Stained towels, unfriendly host. Hot showers, OK beds, cool AC. If I was absolutely desperate for a shower and place to rest I would stay here again, but will avoid as much as possible the next time I come through.
