Lodge at Snowbird

Nice and convenient place to stay when you are skiing at Snowbird. We were in room 311 and had a beautiful view of the mountains . We had a studio with a full kitchen. We had a pullout couch to sleep on which to our surprise was very comfortable. Fireplace a bonus. The place is somewhat dated, but the kitchen and bath renovations make it nicer. No housekeeping, seems to be a theme these days with hotels and being short staffed. Small hot tub for the size of the place , we used it once . Very small work out room . Staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Parking was also easy , nice to not need the car for a few days.

We arrived very late at night. We had reserved a studio loft. When we got to the room it was a plain studio. We had already dragged all the bags up and it was after 2 in the morning. I returned to the front desk and explained to the clerk and related we would change in the morning. The next morning I went down the front desk and explained our situation. The desk clerk explained it was the same room just not in a loft set up, and it is actually better and most people prefer the set up we had and I should want this set up. I dont appreciate being old what I want. There was a reason we wanted the loft setup. I just didn't have the energy to fight. The room was recently redone with brand new modern bathrooms and kitchen. The bedroom was comfortable and sparse. The views from the room were amazing. It wasn't what I reserved though. Despite the recent renovations the building is weird and there is a dated feel to the unit. We were in the farthest room from the elevator and that was one of the reasons I didn't fight about moving, hoping it would be quiet. However one night there was a group in the adjacent room. They were loud and the walls were very thin. We could hear everything. At 10 PM I called the from desk and in about 15 minutes it got quiet. We never heard or saw anyone in that room again. I would be concerned if the hotel was full about the noise. The facilities were OK. The hot tub and pool were frequently full with children. The gym was small but functional. This is not a Ski in/Ski out. It is a one block walk to the Snowbird Center and up flights of stairs. There also is a hike up on the other side of Snowbird Center if you want to go to Peruvian or Gad lifts. We skied Alta one day and the hotel did send over a car to pick us up which was really nice not to have to cross over and ski down.

Lodging options at Snowbird are limited and The Lodge at Snowbird the (expensive) budget option. Read on for details. Located a short walk to the tram Peruvian lift and a shuttle ride to the other lifts, the Lodge offers what are basically fully equiped condos. My studio was small but had the essentials. There were updates in the bathroom but the kitchen was poorly equiped considering the cost of the room. The sofa folded out to an uncomfortably stiff bed with thin stiff pillows. Because of COVID, there was no daily room service. A small market at the Snowbird center offers a limited array of over-priced groceries. I loved the convenience of the Lodge but you are paying for the location, not the amenities.
