I checked in and left immediately without staying the night.
The room was dark, extremely outdated, and in very poor condition. The bedding had visible red stains on the sheets and on the mattress itself, clearly showing through. This raised serious sanitation concerns and I was not comfortable being in the room.
The toilet would not flush, and the bathroom door would not close, which made the room feel nonfunctional and neglected.
I reported these issues right away. Management refused a refund and only offered to move me to another room, which I declined due to the overall condition of the property. There was no sense of urgency or concern.
I found a clean, well-maintained hotel nearby for the same price and stayed there instead.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend this property to anyone who values cleanliness or basic standards.

I stayed at Vernal Best Value Inn last Thursday through Saturday for a hunting trip with my son. Because rooms were limited in Vernal, I prepaid about $450 for three nights. I booked here after reading reviews mentioning simplicity, cleanliness, and value. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite.
Room Condition:
My mattress was so worn that a spring stuck out and poked me when I sat on the edge of the bed.
My son’s mattress had visible stains, and the sheets were both stained and didn’t fit the bed.
The shower head was cracked and fell off whenever we tried to adjust it, leaving only a stream of water from the pipe.
The floors felt grimy, the blankets were questionable, and the A/C unit worked only intermittently.
Management Response:
On Friday morning, I told the manager about these problems. He said the room was “one of their nicer rooms” and that refunds were not allowed under the owner’s strict policy. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told he was away for the weekend and would not be disturbed. When I asked if they cared about poor reviews, the manager said they did not.
About an hour later, the same manager called to say they would replace the shower head and mattress. When we returned late that night, the shower head had been replaced, but the mattress looked like another heavily used one. It looked like the same stained sheets had just been rotated. The trash wasn’t emptied, towels weren’t replaced, and the floors were still dirty.
Housekeeping:
By Saturday evening, nothing had been refreshed—beds unmade, towels still used, trash still full. At that point, we packed up and drove the 3.5 hours home rather than spend another night in the prepaid room.
Overall Impression:
While this wasn’t the most expensive option in Vernal, it wasn’t the cheapest either. For us, the experience was the worst we’ve had in a motel.
If you consider staying here, I recommend:
Inspect the mattresses closely for stains or damage.
Check the cleanliness of floors and blankets by touch, not just by sight.
Ask in advance about their refund policy for unused nights.
Confirm what housekeeping service is provided during your stay.
For us, the choice between camping on the mountain and staying in this room was clear in the end—we should have camped.

Clean & tidy room, room was completely devoid of scent, which my allergies appreciated. Good water pressure, convenient location to all we were trying to see & do in the Vernal area. Plenty of parking, within walking distance of sights downtown. We stayed the first week of a new ownership, new owners were very nice & helpful, I wish them luck in this new journey. Breakfast was a bit sparse, but overall a fine place to stay a few nights.
