A lovely warm welcoming Inn. The room we booked was one of the smaller rooms in the property but it was still perfectly adequate. Some of the fittings are a little tired but it is a historic building. Fluffy towels and a huge comfy bed. The breakfast was amazing! Try what’s on the menu every day rather than changing it (which is an option) you won’t regret it. Coffee is provided in the communal area whenever you want it. Freshly baked treats every evening are delightful. There is a lounge area and a games room, drinks available to order. Seating areas outside. Hot tub, a lovely bonus feature. The hosts have tried to think of every little detail to make the stay comfortable. Easy parking. I understand the property is for sale, hopefully the new owners will keep it the same and not turn it into a soulless typical hotel. Thank you for a great stay.

The owners were on vacation while we were there and the guest innkeepers were great! Peter was an excellent chef and provided us with a wonderful breakfast each morning and delicious treats were available in the afternoon when we returned from exploring the area. Thank you to the guest innkeepers keepers, Peter and Loretta, for a lovely stay! The area was having a heat wave during our stay so the common areas of the inn were quite warm in the afternoon and evening due to the west facing windows. Our guest room had AC which made it very comfortable for sleeping. It was just too warm to spend time in the living areas or on the back porch watching the ducks and chickens except in the morning before breakfast. The guest innkeepers were great; however, they did not know the area very well so we missed out on the expertise of the owners about hidden gems of the area. While we were exploring Stowe, we saw that the owners had listed the property for sale. The guest innkeepers, Peter and Loretta, deserve an excellent rating! The average rating was because we felt the owners appeared to have moved on to their next adventure.

We had a lovely experience in our one night, last minute trip. Our hosts, Peter and Loretta were kind and welcoming and helpful to our needs. Rooms were clean and cozy and we enjoyed the Mountain View room. Sunset on the porch was amazing and the gathering of the ducks and chickens was very entertaining. Breakfast was above and beyond with fresh locally sourced ingredients. We would definitely recommend and return.
