Comfort Inn Southpoint

This was just an average room. It did not stand out as being great, but it wasn't the worst I've stayed in. It's okay for a one night stay.

I am a professional tour and group lodging coordinator and was engaged in phone conversations and emails with 3 different managers at this property over a period of 6 days during which we discussed group rates, breakfast start time, room type availability and property amenities. These conversations culminated in a contract to book 22 rooms for three nights. The contract was written by one of the hotel managers and was signed by that same manager (Sean). Three days later I was notified by a different manager (Laine) that they would no longer be fulfilling the contract. Sometimes in the group sales world it is necessary for a hotel to cancel a group, but normally such a disruptive action is offered alongside assistance with finding a replacement hotel. This hotel management team offered no explanation and no assistance with relocating the group. To me, this experience validates the numerous anecdotes in these reviews indicating poor operational management.

It was ok. The bathroom was a nice size. Mattress was uncomfortable and the bed squeaked. Lamp in the room (205) seemed to have a short. There have been updates, but they are half done. There was no toilet paper holder in our room. Toilet had no lid.
