We chose this hotel for a birthday weekend getaway, but unfortunately the experience was overshadowed by repeated service failures. After checking in, we discovered the shower in our room didn't work. We reported it immediately and were told it would be repaired. Before leaving for the evening, we specifically asked whether the "Do Not Disturb" sign would prevent maintenance from entering and were told it would not. When we returned, the shower still wasn't working, yet we were told it had been fixed. Because no comparable room was available, we had to use another guest room just to shower.
The following morning, we learned that maintenance had never entered the room because of the "Do Not Disturb" sign—the exact issue we had asked about in advance. Despite additional assurances that the problem would be resolved while we were out, we returned to find the shower still unusable. At that point, after multiple inaccurate updates and unfulfilled promises, we decided to end our stay early. While mechanical issues can happen at any hotel, what was most disappointing was the repeated miscommunication and lack of follow-through. A broken shower can be fixed; losing confidence in the staff's communication and commitment to resolving the problem is much harder to overlook.
The hotel indicated that a refund for the unused night would be processed, but we are still waiting for confirmation. We have also contacted management regarding additional compensation for the first night's experience and are awaiting a response. We hope the hotel will make things right, as this experience fell well below the level of service we expected.

We specifically booked a room with 2 queen beds for four days. But we were told when we checked in last night that all rooms with 2 queen beds were taken and could only give us a room with one bed. (Our check in was late due to flight delays, but I didn’t expect that to change anything.) The person at the front desk promised to make a note to change us to a room with two beds today. I hope they live up to their obligation this time. I’m also miffed that the hotel is holding $250 (not sure for what) plus another $80 for incidentals on my card. These fees weren’t mentioned during booking. Front desk tells me if there are no incidentals, the $330 will be credited to my card in 7-10 business days. Why does the charge go through if there are no incidentals and why does it take 7-10 business days to revert an undisclosed charge? There was no coherent answer when I asked these questions. I’m hoping to enjoy my stay nevertheless and hoping the hotel comes through today with a room with 2 beds, the kind of room I booked in the first place.

The Marriott Courtyard, located on 2nd Street in the Noma district of Washington, is a well-kept establishment with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We enjoyed a three-night stay at the facility and found the rates to be exceptionally reasonable. Our 7th floor room was quiet and well stocked. The registration/front desk is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel across from the hotel's cafe. The cafe's meal were tasty and within our budget.
The only downside to the trip was the 'valet parking only' at $55.00 per night. This price seemed a bit unreasonable as our vehicle was unused during our stay.
Please note that the hotel is located down the street from the subway stop and makes for great 'people watching'. The area around the hotel is patrolled by the DC police and National Guard. We felt very secure.
