Savoy Suites Hotel

Nice clean and convenient place to stay

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel located very conveniently in one of the best areas in DC ( NW). Parking your car is a scramble but if you don’t opt for valet, there is metered parking down Wisconsin Ave and 2 hr free parking on Davis St NW which is not restricted on weekends or between 8:30 pm and 7 am. The hotel lobby gives you an artsy feel and the rooms are spacious well equipped with a tiny microwave , stovetop and dishes , The usb charger insert on the table didn’t work though . There is a lovely Italian restaurant Dovino’s right next the premises and I highly recommend their butternut squash soup. There is also an amazing spa on the ground floor that offers half off saunas and other self care stuff through scanning their QR code. The hotel has a nice patch of grass for dogs next to the front driveway which was very convenient and well maintained with dispenser bags and kept nice and clean . I would like to thank Jay the front desk manager who has a very sweet demeanor and was very helpful on our first day in guiding us through everything.. However we also had a bad experience with another front desk lady named Blair who school teachered us every time we needed something saying off hand things . Needless to say she was very rude to us even though acting friendly when other staff were present . This really left a bitter taste in my mouth which is why I’m giving this a 3 star rating.

I had the city view room and that was fabulous. However, I had a bad experience with the staff. So... late at night, around 11pm, I was watching tv and all of a sudden BOOM BOOM BOOM, there were 3 super loud bangs against the connecting door. The man next to me did it for some crazy reason. This made me jump out of bed, almost gave me a heart attack. I went down to reception immediatly to tell them what happened and ask for help. They ladies were confused and couldn't seem to help me. I just wanted the security to find out from the person next door why he would do that. They put me on the phone with the general manager who was rude and impatient wit me, acting like I'm crazy or something. I didn't want to change rooms because my room was so fantastic... why must I move rooms because of this person? Why can't they solve this problem for me instead of questioning me and talking to me like I'm not telling the truth? Finally the security arrived and he went to ask the person why he banged on the connecting door. When I asked the security what happened he said the man next door denied he did that. So all the staff assumed I was making it up, that's how it felt like. I said to the security that I'm telling the truth. He refused to do something about it and said I must change rooms or LEAVE THE HOTEL. He said I'm scaring the staff... are you serious? Why couldn't they just speak to me in a kind manner. I went to my room immediatly and just left it... before these people throw me out on the street for no reason. The staff was not friendly... I wished they treated me better. I'm just a girl who wanted to be treated well as a guest, but they treated me so poorly. I will not be back. It's sad... because I would have loved to stay again, since the hotel room is lovely and the area is perfectly located. Very sad.
