I stayed one night while visiting friends. The room was shabby but seemed clean. The sheets had cigarette burn holes. The towels were thin and small. The door and lock seemed very flimsy. We spilled a drink on the sheets and went to the front desk to ask for clean ones around 9pm. They said they did not have a key to the linen room and the maid had left, so we didn't get clean sheets. Only plus is it is cheap and a walk across the street from the beach.

For $130, you get: 1. A broken and smelly ventilation unit with missing buttons 2. An unclean refrigerator with spills 3. Disgusting carpet 4. NO hairdryer or coffee maker 5. A trace amount of toilet paper 6. Outlets that fall out of the wall and do not hold a plug 7. A “non-smoking” room where people recently smoked 8. Questionable locks 9. Not ADA 10. Bulging, broken ceiling tiles 11. An outdated microwave 12. A dirty mirror 13. Holes in the wall and ceiling 14. Creaky floor boards 15. Stinkbugs 16. Dim lights This motel is a poor representation of what the inspectors, owners, and management accepts in Norfolk, Virginia.

On arrival, our room on the bottom floor smelled bad of mould and I noticed that it was coming from the sofa type chairs that are really not even required in the room. I reported this to reception and asked if they had any cleaner rooms. They moved us to a room on the second floor that was nothing special but was more modernised and did not smell of mould. Had I had this room initially I would have probably not been impressed at all but since it was a big improvement on the first room, I settled.Reception were always helpful during our 4 night stay, however this is definitely just a place to get your head down; you get what you pay for. The WiFi was ok. The beach is very close.
