Fairfield Inn and Suites South Hill I-85

Stayed in room 104 on a trip from DC to NC with my wife. It was clean and comfortable but we had 2 issues. 1) The AC unit must be too big for the small space because it blast you with cold air for about 60 seconds and then shuts off for 2-3 minutes. Its either too cold or too hot all night. 2) Room 104 is right next to the boiler room, utility room and outside the window are 3 air conditioner condensing units so you have all of these utilities running making all kinds of noise all night long. Realistically this should be a storage room or an office but not a $200 night room. I would stay again but not in this room.

This property is currently being renovated, and the results are stunning. The facility has been updated with high-quality finishes that make the stay feel truly premium, all while maintaining excellent, competitive prices. The location offers remarkable views and local charm that make it a standout in South Hill. A special thank you to the staff, particularly Lori Lambeth, who embodies the highest traditions of Marriott hospitality. Her professionalism and local knowledge were the highlights of our trip. Between the great breakfast and the incredible people, this is a 5-star experience through and through. The Rooms were spacious and very clean. Given that it is off of 85, it is very quiet and enjoyable.
