Sandpiper Inn

We checked into Seashire on a Sunday afternoon and checked out Wednesday. We were in town for a 3 day surf camp and we loved it. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had a nice clean corner balcony room where we could see the lake and there were ducks outside our room and we could see fish jumping as well, such a nice relaxing view, we had a fridge and microwave in our room and plenty of towels and pillows. The pool was nice also, clean and refreshing. This motel was so great for our budget and so close to everything. We never had an issue finding a parking spot and were able to walk to the boardwalk.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was hands down the worst hotel experience I've ever had. We paid $350 for one night and didn't even stay an hour because the place was that bad. The property is visibly falling apart, the exterior looks neglected, and the pool area is in terrible condition. Nothing about it looked like it was worth what they charge. The office was disgusting. It had a strong smell like someone was living in it full time, and it was anything but clean or professional. That first impression told us everything we needed to know. What made the experience even worse was the owners. They were unbelievably rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in basic customer service. Instead of trying to make things right, they refused to refund us even though we left almost immediately. Taking $350 from guests who don't even stay because of the condition of the property says everything about how they choose to run their business. Don't let the photos fool you. This place is overpriced, poorly maintained, and the owners seem far more interested in keeping your money than treating guests with respect. Save yourself the frustration, save your money, and book literally anywhere else.

We didn't even stay the night! The pictures were nice enough for a quick one night stay, but I was so wrong. When we arrived, the entire property felt deeply unsafe, I will say the guy at the check in was nice but that's where it ended. I felt like I was going to be mugged at any time and all of my information (ie room number) was on the vehicle hang tag so they knew where I was. The bathroom was disgusting, roaches were doing great living their best lives, and there was a one inch gap under the front door. When we went out to get dinner, the amount of open drug use was rather impressive, as was the discussion of on going manhunts for a few residents. During dinner, if decided I had enough and would bite the bullet and get another hotel. We went back, packed up, and I checked out. Front desk was shocked when I told him if the drug use (yeah right). I never would have been able to sleep at this place. Save your money (maybe your life?) and go somewhere else. If I could give negative stars, I would.
