The Belltown Inn

This is a lovely small hotel with old-school style. We arrived a bit early for check in and they put our name on a waitlist and said they would text when our room was ready, and to expect to hear from them by 4 pm. We decided to wait in the lobby, along with several others who were boarding a cruise ship the next day. The lobby was comfortable and not noisy, but there was a beautiful courtyard tucked away that would also have been a great place to wait. It turned out that there was a big issue with their computer system. While the issue was eventually resolved, the way the front desk handled the situation was truly professional. No one panicked, they were unfailingly polite in answering the dozens of queries, they were kind and friendly throughout. It’s becoming rare to see actually good, professional hospitality service and we were impressed by this staff. We will definitely be returning. The hotel is also within just a few minutes walk of plenty of restaurants, the Public Market, and the ferry and cruise pier. There are very steep hills west of 2nd Avenue, but Vine Street has periodic stairs which makes it easier uphill. Shout out to 2601 Elliott garage, it is very secure and just a three minute walk to the hotel.

The Belltown Inn's website accurately depicts their hotel. It is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful, they smoothly handled a bunch of last minute shuttle requests to the cruise port as we had rain. (The car service they set us up with from the airport to the hotel was great too.) You may worry about water pressure in an older building, but the shower was consistently hot with great pressure. The beds were comfortable. The towels were the most luxurious that we have seen in a long time. Thick and large! We utilized the rooftop, courtyard and lobby area to gather with our other family members staying at the Belltown. The elephant in the room, the unhoused people in the area. Yes, they are present. Did they bother us, no. (We had six couples staying in the area for a wedding and only once did one couple get asked for money.) Basically, if you give them their space, they will give you yours. We felt safe walking to restaurants and sightseeing during the daylight hours. Our daughter and SIL arrived after 11pm one night and their driver made sure they figured out the intercom to get in the hotel before leaving them. We did walk home from Block 41 after the wedding, no problems encountered. Each visitor to Seattle needs to decide what their tolerance/comfort level is.

Very nice hotel with absolutely excellent customer service at checkin! Service was helpful and pleasant at all times. It’s a 10 minute walk to Pike Place Market which is why I chose it and had good reviews. It is in an area that looks questionable outside but it wasn’t a problem. Hotel has no restaurant or eatery but serves coffee, tea and water in lobby. The rooms have a fancy Nespresso coffee maker so I liked that! Bed was comfortable. Bathroom lighting not great for putting on makeup if that’s a thing for you. 🤣 But bathroom was nice with 3 spacious shelves for toiletries. There’s a rooftop patio to bring your own food or drinks to relax.
