Oxford Inn Silverdale

I've usually had good luck with Choice Hotels, but not this one. Front desk guy was missing most of his teeth, and was a bit condescending. Room smelled weird, not smoke but something. Entrance to lobby was pitch black when we arrived after dark with someone smoking in an alcove. Bed was comfortable and that was about it. Seemed very overpriced for what it was.

Wow, where to start. I arrive on the 28th after a 14 hour drive- just to be told they’re overbooked despite booking in advance. Someone checked out too late so the cleaning folk couldn’t take care of the room. Then I beg with Expedia to help find me somewhere the first night. Meanwhile despite my wishes - quality Inn cancels my 3 night reservation. So I have to try and have the remaining 2 nights reinstated because I already paid a $286 down payment. Eventually both parties get it figured out and I’m told I won’t be charged anything extra for the two nights. Sounds okay. I leave on the 31st and find myself with pending charges of $878. 2 charges of ~350 each, and another one of $178. A far cry from $286. I talk to the front desk and the manager apparently went home. I call quality inn customer service for help and they said it’s all up to the manager. I get told repeatedly I’d be reached out too by the manager within a few hours - but nothing of the sort happens. I still have pending charges. This is abysmal. Don’t go here if you value your sanity as my 3 day trip was exhausting and full of reservation nightmares due to this hotel.

Doesn’t have an elevator They make you watch an ad to log into the internet. I watched that prevagen commercial no less than 100 times during my 2.5 week stay No elevator, again, lol They make breakfast for a total of 3 guests out of 100. I had maybe one biscuit if I was lucky on a good day Rooms are very small, three leeps and I was across the room Soft close mechanism are non existent, bring ear plugs Toilet leaked and constantly refilled, bring ear plugs Only one ice machine for the whole building had a total of 3 ice cubes available sharing is caring I guess
