A beautiful lobby led us to a great check in experience, including a room that was ready early. Free parking. The 8th floor room was spacious with a view of the town and hills to the east. Comfortable King bed, fluffy towels, soft robes, wine tools and coffee/tea in room. Everything was clean and good quality. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very good. Hotel is in the perfect location. We walked to wine, restaurants, and the trolley. The town has great old buildings, parks, and lots of trees.

We visit The Marcus Whitman hotel in Walla Walla, WA, a few times a year just to get away. Even a one night stay leaves us feeling rejuvenated. Everything about it is tasteful, accommodating, clean, quiet, and upscale with a comfortable and welcoming ambience. The historic nature of the hotel is evident but not overwhelming, and the staff aims to please. On top of all of this, parking is free, there's a fitness room, EV charging stations, a restaurant that shouldn't be missed, and a short walk to Walla Walla's Main Street to shop or participate in whatever is going on.

You enter the grand and endless lobby which has about 30 chairs too many and is screaming for a big, grand bar and some beautiful light fixtures. We ate dinner in the lobby - strangely enough - because we were traveling with our puppy who wasn't allowed in the restaurant - which looked like a Denny's, so not sure why the rules... They gave us a "$15 voucher" toward food and beverage, so we used it towards the overpriced dinner for three people. Two sandwiches and five drinks for $158 - AFTER the $15 credit! We stayed in the main "wing" in a room that was described as "historic", but was greatly in need of updating. It was off a hallway with old, old, old carpeting. But that was better than the "west wing" where our original room was. This looked like a bad add-on with none of the charm of the original hotel. And it smelled. They charge a $25 "amenity" fee. At checkout, I asked what that was for. Well - it was for the $15 credit for food and $10 was for the "free" parking! So we PAID for the "FREE" parking and food voucher?!? You've got to be kidding me!
