AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN

TV didnt work, no water in sink, room smelled stale. Overall not a good experience. Entire hotel felt dirty. The staff was kind enough but this hotel needs a lot of maintenance and cleaning before anyone should stay there. If you read this and still stay here you will regret it.

Never stayed at a motel this bad before. No towels in the shower, no soap in the dispensers , tv did not work, the sink was cracked from top to bottom and had a hole all the way thru the side. the deadbolt on the door did not work. the walls looked like they were never ever washed, crap smeared all over them. the walls were full of holes. No information about where to eat, When I went to front desk he was angry because he had to get towels , Asked him if there were any sports bars close where we could go, his answer was i have no idea. How does a place like this stay in business. They tried to charge me $220 for one night, Had to show The ad on line and then got the room for $148. Absolutly most discusting place I ever stayed in. Would rate this place zero if I could.. Can't believe their isn't some kind of regulations for motel rentals. only reason we stayed is because we could not find another room in La crose

I tried to book room 3 days in advance . Online website would not let me book more than 1 day . I called the hotel direct and the desk clerk was very helpful and booked my rooms with no problem . I gave her my credit card info and thats where the trouble started . Online price was stated at $94 for a senior rate . I asked the clerk if they would match that price , and she stated that their price was "a bit higher" After a nice 5hr journey, I checked in and the clerk presented me a bill for $578. WTF is this ? she says the room rate was now $250 a night , plus 75 for room tax. This was "parents week" in LaCrosse and she says they raise the prices , and also de activate the travel sites discount rates . (plus no other rooms in town on a Friday night) For 578 I could have stayed in a much nicer hotel ! Shame on me ! for 10 years we have used this place a few times a year , with no problems . I should have been suspicious when she said she could not send me an email confirmation . I am sure Red Lion Inns will not make this right . My only recourse is to vote with my feet , and NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN . I suggest you avoid this place unless you can get a confirmed reservation
