Super 8 Madison East Wi

Disgusting, rude, argumentative, no breakfast, no hot water, no air conditioning. Don't stay hear for any reason what so ever.

I came into this motel knowing it was a gamble. On one hand, it was one of the cheapest motels in the Madison area and seemed like it was in an okay area. On the other hand, the reviews were pretty uniformly bad. So I was prepared to tolerate quite a bit. But I should have listened to the reviews. Honestly, the only positive thing about this motel was the price, and perhaps the hot water. Literally everything else about this motel was terrible. I've attached several pics to contrast with the Super 8 stock photos that are highly inaccurate. For one, the Internet was terribly slow (1-2 Mbps). The front desk clerk on both nights, while nice, clearly had no idea what he was doing and always seemed to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off (with perhaps a bit of substance use mixed in). I had to wait 10 minutes for him to arrive at the desk upon check in (the guest ahead of me had been waiting 30). The breakfast consisted of a pot of coffee and a bowl of very ripe bananas and oranges. There was trash littered across the facility, including abandoned clothing. In the back, it appeared that a few rooms may be in use by long-term tenants. In the back, freeway noise was so loud that you couldn't hear whether your door was unlocking. In the room, the carpet was in terrible condition. The bed appeared to be at least 20 years old. They initially only provided 2 throw-size pillows, and I had to ask for more standard pillows (which were provided). The AC/heat unit worked well, but appeared to be falling out of the wall. The room had not been deep cleaned in a long time, as there was something splattered on the walls and dirt (not dust) appeared to cover the back of the TV and cable box. There was no iron or hangers to go with the ironing board. The rack for hanging clothes was starting to fall out of the wall. Nothing heavy could be placed on the shelf. At the sink, there was a broken electrical switch plate and water rushed out of the sink so badly that it would splash onto the floor. A microfridge was present, but a previous guest left 2 TV dinners in the freezer that were never removed. Bottom line: The city should seriously consider citing this facility for safety and cleanliness violations. This facility is in extremely poor condition, even for a Super 8. I do not recommend staying here, regardless of how cheap it is.

We had a horrible experience at this Super 8 location. We checked in at 11:55pm after a long day of traveling and delays to a room that was filthy and uninhabitable. The first thing we noticed was the terrible odor. I'm unsure what the duct tape on the discolored portion of the wall in the closet is, but it looked unprofessional. The tile floor was cracked in the bathroom and the bathtub was dirty and stained. I'm afraid of what a black light would've revealed on the bed because what was apparent was disgusting. The sheets were stained with green spots and the comforter was stained with black splotches. The bed spring was also badly stained and had no sheets or bed skirt around it. The gray and white striped curtains were stained. The front door was dirty as well as the walls next to it. We felt unsafe to stay in the unsanitary room for even one night. We immediately found other accommodations after being told by Kobe we would have to wait until the next day to speak to a manager. I have tried multiple times to speak with the property manager and my calls have been ignored. When we finally got through to the corporate office regarding the stay and asked for a refund because we checked in and immediately checked out. Their response was because we did not cancel the reservation outside of 24 hours prior to the stay we forfeited two of the three-night stay. We didn’t know that the rooms were going to be so disgusting before check out because online the pictures show it to be very clean.
