Blue Harbor Resort

My husband and I came for a weekend getaway. Gorgeous location right on the water, wonderful walking paths, close to downtown and amenities. Our room was large and had everything we needed. Fridge, Keurig, microwave and comfy bed. Carpet looks to be new. However, for $430.00 a night, I would expect they would solve their mold issues in the bathroom and furniture is really beat up. They would benefit from a refresh. Finally- their bar area serves some unfortunate cocktails. I don't feel the bar tender had received proper training. Never have I ever has a French 75 in a low ball with ice....it tasted just like the over sweetened Gin Gimlet served to my husband. We'll be heading off property for drinks and dinner today.

From the outside this resort is beautiful. However, after checking into our room we noticed major flaws. First one being MOLD on the shower curtain and bathroom title. The room itself had multiple issues such as the light above the mini fridge area wasn’t working, weather stripping come off the patio door, wires hanging from the TV, the coffee table legs were broke. The room itself was absolutely disgusting. There was dried blood on the walls, stains on the curtain etc. It was such a disappointment after paying almost $400 a night. We also didn’t have any shampoo, conditioner, or body wash filled in the shower. We had to call housekeeping and they only filled the body wash. The key cards kept not working so everyday we had to go get 1 of them reactivated. The walls are paper thin so be prepared to hear your neighbors, which is the same issue as any other hotel, The only enjoyable part was the location. It’s easy to walk to the beach, putt putt and ice cream. We had family staying in the villas and the bathtub didn’t drain and it never got fixed the entire week. When we arrived trash was overflowing in the garbage bins by the door to enter. This hotel is so unkept and it’s to bad because it’s a beautiful location. I’m attaching pictures below of the room

Other reviews have said that this hotel is old and run-down for the price but we found it to be average price compared to other hotels around the area (Marriott, Hilton, etc). I highly recommend this hotel for all ages. This is a victorian style hotel with an indoor water park, arcade, outdoor pool, beach, fire pit, and other outdoor games. We love the old charm that this hotel offers. It reminds us of the Disney Grand Floridian Resort Hotel or the Universal Loews Portofino Bay Hotel but without the price tag. They catered to all ages. We had a city view standard room with two beds and a sofa bed. If the lake/beach view rooms are booked, you can always sit in the common area balcony/porch and enjoy the lake/beach view. The room size was huge and can accommodate a family of six. Besides the amenities, the best part for us was the sink; it was a perfect height for my elementary age kids to reach without needing a step stool (Disney and Universal Resorts don’t have this). You also have the boardwalk and the tranquil community and shops within walking distance.
