Super 8 Motel Verona/Madison Area

We've stayed at a few Sleep Inns. Based on our good experiences and the reviews of this location, we decided to book it. Boy, were we disappointed. First, the property on the outside is sloppy. Broken concrete pavers in the landscaping, or just a lack of any landscaping. Crumbly parking lot and sidewalks. But, whatever. Lobby and breakfast area is nice. Check-in easy. Rooms are small. Literally the cheapest decor possible. There are no drawers or shelving for clothes. There is a small closet (when I say small, probably 18-20 inches wide). The bathroom sink and vanity are in the room, not in the bathroom, so good luck if someone is up early and wants to get ready. Killed 4 to 5 ants in the room. The worst part - there is NO insulation between rooms. We could clearly hear the conversation of the person next door. When the room above us turned on their shower, it sounded like ours was on. There are construction materials in the hallway. Extra stairs stacked in the alcove when you go upstairs. Again, just sloppy. Not as clean as I would have hoped (hair in the bathroom, hair stuck to the soap packaging, soda sprayed on the wall). At least the beds were comfy. Thank god we had earplugs. We would not stay here again.

We stayed here for two nights over the July 4th holiday weekend. Felt lucky to find an affordable place when we were planning our trip. The location is right on the main road and it was pretty easy to get here from Madison and Monona over the two days. The hotel property is clean and well maintained, although there was a faint antiseptic odor every time we entered. And there was a touch of humidity. I know it was a hot spell outside but it felt borderline damp inside. Still we enjoyed our two nights in the room, which was spacious and comfortable. And the complimentary breakfast was pretty decent. Affordable room rate. Free parking.

This hotel was booked for us on a work trip. We were so pleasantly surprised! The room was spotlessly clean, had a large bathroom, with a large sink/vanity counter outside of the bathroom, and outlets, lights and storage on both sides of the bed. Large tv, a desk, adequate storage, etc. The breakfast was the standard for a hotel but adequate and the eating area was spotless.
