Ramada Waupaca

I would actually give this place a 3.5 but unfortunately the heating/cooling unit in our room didn't work well and therefore it was a little warm. Breakfast was as expected and staff were nice. Room was is decent shape (except for the heating/ cooling unit. The hotel hallways and some of the common areas could use upgrading but the fitness center and pool areas were great and superior to many higher level hotels. My husband loves to work out in fitness centers and was very pleased with this hotel as a result.

Location was perfect for our visit to Chain o’ Lakes. We also enjoyed a drive down main st in town. Atmosphere was quiet and calm. Handicapped room was spacious enough. We expected to pay about $200 for two nights but with taxes and fees our total was $300. That was dissappointing. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good, typical hotel buffet. Tile floors in common areas needed to be mopped and some exit windows needed to be washed. Overall it was a good stay.

We were checked with a guy who wasn’t exactly friendly or welcoming. He said nothing about breakfast. He pretty much told us where to find our room and that was it. There was loud music playing in a side room which seemed strange. The room seemed ok but the beds looked like they had been laid on. Funky smell in the room and the halls smelled like kitty litter. breakfast truly underwhelming. A few cold scrambled eggs and hash that could have passed for dog food. Then as we were leaving there were some sketchy characters hanging around the building. Way too much money for this place.
