Togwotee Mountain Lodge

Basic accommodations but a good choice for Teton National Park visitors. Clean, quiet, with rustic furniture, but more reasonable than lodging in the park. A short, scenic drive to the Moran entrance. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, onsite restaurant and pub.

This past week I decided to take a trip out to Yellowstone and Teton parks to explore and view the scenery. I decided to go solo as my partner bailed out on the last minute. I spent three nights at Togwotee Mountain Lodge besides staying in Teton Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I found the room comfortable and the front desk staff welcoming. The area of Moran, Wyoming where Togwotee is located is very, very rural with steep mountains. I took advantage of the bar located onsite as well as dining services that were available. The food was very bland and mediocre, additionally I was served by a waiter who I strongly believed had anger issues. The man was so course and angry that one night I decided to leave a very low tip. The bartender also had anger problems and not only were unprofessional but bragged about that the were from Eastern Europe (Croatia). While I didn't mind hearing about that they were from abroad, their general bad attitudes was a complete turnoff!! It was unprofessional and not needed by anyone! Additionally, I went to purchase a coffee the next morning at the attached gas station store. The coffee was being sold in cups that can not handle hot beverages. The cup melted as I was drinking my coffee. As a result I explored the area and found another restaurant that was a distance away but was more welcoming that the dining staff at Togwotee. I will also indicate that I found a few of the other guests, in as such few words as "odd!" If I ever return to the Yellowstone area I think I'll just spend the week at the Jackson Lodge in Teton Park which was expensive but much more accomodating!

WiFi advertised in cabins. WiFi signal would disappear constantly, this would not allow me to work from the cabin. For the super high pricing for the cabin, one would expect the WiFi to be functional as advertised . In addition the cabins were at best 25% occupied yet both cabins on each side (very close proximity) were filled ; why not spread the occupants out a bit for some privacy? Very disappointed for the high price paid….
