Old Faithful Inn

Lovely rustic and fun, cute staff,and very friendly. The view was incredible, and exploring the hotel brought many surprises.

I laughed when I read the negative reviews of the Yellowstone accommodations. Bad cell reception, no phones/tv's, etc. Come on people. You're in the middle of the freakin wilderness with amenities that the ultra rich couldn't have imagined in their day to day lives when this place was founded. I suspect these complainers are the same people who you see on video getting tossed up in the air by a bison. I stayed in the Old Faithfull Inn for a couple days with my daughters in a room that didn't have it's own bathroom. OK, It's not like the Marriot in Maui, but it's more than adequate and it's an authentic experience of a bygone era. Everything was clean, and I found the food at all the locations we ate at to be on par with any good/decent restaurant in a major metro area. Prices were higher as you would expect- (ala Disney)- but not to the degree where you feel like you're getting screwed (ie. Wall Drug). The only negatives we encountered were other guests who were still on east or west coast time. Considering the monumental operation the facilities/staff have to undergo on a daily basis- it's a miracle this place even exists.

We used Old Faithful Inn in July 2026 as a lower loop staging area to explore Yellowstone. We loved the location, close proximity to a variety of sites. The history and atmosphere were great. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The only thing we'd do different is to request a room that faces east, the summer sun setting kept our room warm well into the night. Larger fans and the ability to open the windows more would have helped.
