AXSUR Design Hotel

We stayed a couple of nights in this modern hotel with sleek designs, a short way back from the sea front. Our spacious room included a large double bed, an easy-to-operate safe, table & chairs, bath & shower and an area with a sink, kettle and hot drink-making provisions. The shower heat was good but the flow not very good (the shower head was inappropriate). The staff member at check-in was friendly and helpful and arranged to get some clothes washed for us. The continental breakfasts were good with fruits, orange juice, croissants, excellent coffee, toast, cheese, ham, cereals, yoghurt & spreads etc. Overall we felt this was a good choice for our short stay in Montevideo.

A well placed hotel, near the tourist center and the Rambla. Nice staff. Huge room and rather quiet although overlooking the street. Bright breakfast room and full breakfast. The only downside is the lights-on system when we put the access card in a slot near the front door. When the front door is in a blind place, in the evening, it is not easy to find the place to put the map, since there is no light. A small light on the device would be convenient. But it's not worth a star because for the rest it's perfect.

Good location in Ciudad Vieja. Spacious room, Rio view, good internet throughout the hotel. Carolina received us very well. Lack taken on one side of the bed. Shower OK. Cleaning OK. Ancient furniture. There's a bad smell out of the bathroom. The "kitchen" has no utensils other than glass and mug. The electric kettle was dirty/badly preserved. The gym is awful (nothing inviting). The breakfast is unfortunate - poorly chopped fruits, others with no care of choice, bad black coffee, aqueous yogurt, half a lun that looks like plastic, no protein, little variety.
