Difficult to obtain reservation (e.g., don't work with Hotels.com and others) but turns out impossible to cancel reservation! I called hotel four days before we were due to arrive and spoke with a clerk who assured me my reservation would be canceled. Discovered not only was my reservation not canceled, but I was charged MORE for a cancellation fee than the price on the actual reservation. Scam artists. Friendly, but scam artists even if they don't see themselves that way. And it wasn't a language problem. My Spanish is perfect. I lived in Carrasco as a child and wanted to show my old neighborhood and school (Stella Maris) to my wife.
A word of advice based on seven weeks traveling on land through Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Bolivia, stick to Hotels.com, avoid a hotel that doesn't accept it. Bahamas would not accept hotels.com, I used Booking, then Bahamas blamed Booking for their own communication shortcomings. Read their reviews. All of them.

Hi, I think a 3 star hotel, should ensure a good rest. Regardless of what you can access to a 3-star hotel, which in everything fulfilled room 117, you have the mattress to give it away, it sinks totally when you go to bed and you are left sleeping like in a “canoe”. Regarding the rest for the rate meets but I think another hotel of the same category and rate would not have a mattress in that condition.
Breakfast was normal, with no scrambled eggs, only hard boiled eggs, cakes and coffee.
The room itself has everything you need, fridge, A/C, TV Cable.
Today morning I had to log in for a meeting and I couldn't because the WIFI last night was giving me a broadband of less than 1MB, impossible to have at that speed a virtual meeting. Last night I asked for help with this and boy who was in reception indicated that he could not do anything because there were many people connected at the same time.
In short I would not stay here again for the fee of U$67 dollars

I highly stress the friendliness of the staff and the quick resolution of problems.
We booked the best room available. The first night the air stopped working, it rained and water came in and when we wanted to bathe in the morning the shower was covered and everything flooded. The toilet was also covered. The bathroom had a horrible smell, like tincture, acid.
At noon we were passed to another room and we had no problems anymore, but the hotel, for the price, is quite basic. The furniture is very old. The bathroom is tiny (so much so that when you bathe the shower closes because you hit the walls and close it unintentionally), there is no place to support things. Outdoor parking. Breakfast: puddings, bread, ham, cheese, cream cheese, dulce de leche, jam, tea, coffee, milk, chocolate powder, tangerines, bananas, hard-boiled egg and not much else. The hotel was always very clean and the bed linen too.
