Our 7-night experience at the Westin St. Thomas for our honeymoon was phenomenal. The resort is loaded with amenities and access to water sports, resort activities, dining options, and more. We weren’t far from Charlotte Amelie…only a short taxi ride of about 10 minutes. We enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet (not complimentary, but worth a try at least one day). The staff was helpful and pleasant. The ocean view from the property is wonderful and the sister properties right next door both have private beach access that is open to Westin guests. The scenario, vibes were absolutely top tier. Our breakfast server, Cecilia, was awesome as well! I highly recommend the Westin St. Thomas.

It’s over priced. You don’t get anything for your money. Everything is high . Plus they charge a 20% gratuity for all services off the top.

As an airline pilot, I spend a significant amount of time in hotels, so I tend to notice the little things that separate an average property from a great one. This was my first overnight stay in the Caribbean, and our company arranged accommodations at the Westin St. Thomas.
My first impression couldn’t have been better. Akima, the front desk attendant who checked us in, was exceptionally friendly, professional, and welcoming. She took the time to answer our questions, explained the resort and its amenities, and made us feel genuinely appreciated as guests. Her knowledge of the property and warm hospitality set the tone for what I hoped would be a great stay.
The first impression was that of Caribbean grandeur. As I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by a large, open, breezy space filled with natural light pouring in through expansive windows. The gentle rustle of palm trees outside blended with the distant sound of waves crashing against the shore, creating a calming, rhythmic backdrop. A faint scent of salt air mixed with tropical flowers lingered in the air, instantly transporting me into a relaxed island mindset. It gave a true sense of the tropical allure of the island.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. Clean, with non-carpeted floors, which I think is important in a tropical environment. The cool tile underfoot was refreshing after being out in the warm sun. The bathroom had the largest shower head I think I’ve ever seen, and the steady, rainfall-like stream added to the feeling of luxury. The lighting was calm and soothing, casting a soft glow that made it easy to unwind. Air conditioning worked very well and was already on when I arrived at the room, offering a welcome escape from the humid outdoor air.
There is a vast selection of food choices. I ate in the Shorebird restaurant, which had an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring surf and turf that night. The restaurant had an open-air feel, with the scent of grilled meats and ocean breeze mingling together. The low hum of conversation and clinking of plates created a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. The roast beef was excellent, the lobster tail was… meh. There wasn’t necessarily a large selection of food, but everything was of good or better quality. The price, I felt, was very fair as well. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly and were quick to fill my water glass and remove used plates.
There is a huge number of pools in various locations. Finding them all was my exercise for the morning. As I walked the property, I could hear the gentle splash of water and laughter from guests enjoying themselves. The walk included many steps as well, but I think everything was accessible for everyone. I think there is plenty of activities available to keep kids occupied. This is a company stay, so I didn’t have the time to indulge in water sports, which I think is available. My preferred activity is soaking in the views, and this place had plenty—endless stretches of blue ocean meeting the horizon, framed by lush greenery and bright tropical blooms.
This is a place I would definitely consider as a choice to come back to on my own and bring my wife. And I’m sure I’ve only scratched the surface of what’s available not only at the hotel but at this extremely friendly island.
