Lotus Village Resort - Muine

Terrible management. Hotel security is inadequate. We arrived tonight, left our bike as usual in the hotel parking lot. A security guard came running in and ripped our bike out of his hands, pressed the gas and slammed it into the wall hard. Management's doing nothing, bike's damaged. Our questions were first told he wasn't working for them, then they changed their statements and started talking like deal with him yourself. The administration refused to call - said type on vacation (there can be no such thing in the hotel). They lied about the cameras not being there, even though we came up and saw a camera just above the scene.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely terrifying and unacceptable. Here's what happened: Before the main incident, we were already disturbed by the sound of rats and bats in our room. We called the front desk and were told, “There’s nothing we can do at this hour. Wait until morning.” Shortly after, a large bat appeared in our room, flying around us and causing complete panic. We were forced to run barefoot from the 3rd floor down to reception, terrified. A staff member did come up and managed to chase the bat out, but unbelievably, they asked us to go back and continue sleeping in the same room. We returned but were too traumatized to rest. While packing to leave in the middle of the night, we again heard rats running and more bats screeching. Unable to endure it any longer, we fled to a friend’s room to sleep there for safety. Hotel's Response: Instead of proper support, they only offered a 20% discount and blamed us, saying we must have left the door open, allowing the bat to enter. We refused this explanation and asked for a better resolution since we couldn’t sleep a single moment in that room. Shockingly, the hotel charged us an extra 250,000 VND per person for sleeping in our friend’s room – despite it being a clear emergency and completely beyond our control. Frustrated and angry, we paid the full amount and left without receiving any fair compensation or care. This hotel may be trendy among young travelers, but their crisis management and customer service are dangerously poor, irresponsible, and absolutely unsafe. Everything I have shared is 100% true. We do not recommend anyone to stay at this place when visiting Mui Ne.

On May 24th, my friend and I had the WORST experience we’ve ever had at a resort – and it happened at what looked like a peaceful place with a nice view: Lotus Village Resort. But beneath the surface was a shocking level of irresponsibility and danger. We booked a room for 1,900,000 VND after the receptionist confirmed there was only one room left, even though Traveloka showed the resort as fully booked. Trusting them, we agreed to the high price. But then... Not long after checking in, we started hearing strange squeaking sounds. At night, the sounds got louder – constant, disturbing, impossible to sleep. At 2:30 AM, we called the front desk, only to be told, “It’s late, there’s nothing we can do right now.” At 3:00 AM, a HUGE BAT flew into our room and started circling above our bed. We panicked and ran barefoot through the cold beach in the dark, looking for help. There was no night staff on duty. We ended up sleeping cramped in a friend’s room – five people squeezed into one bed. The next morning, we went straight to reception to report what happened. After listening, their only response was to offer a 20% discount. We couldn’t accept that kind of “support” – this wasn’t just a comfort issue, it was about our safety and mental well-being. Worse, they began blaming us, suggesting the bat got in because we left the door open (we didn’t), and claiming we had no proof we didn’t return to the room afterward – as if we were making the whole thing up to get a refund. Their words were offensive and infuriating. The more we spoke to them, the clearer it became that they were dodging responsibility. After some back-and-forth, they told us to have breakfast while they “talked to the manager.” But with the way we were feeling, no one could enjoy a meal. Right after we finished eating and returned to reception, our luggage was already brought down – ready to be sent off. They said they’d refund 50% of the room fee. But then – shockingly – charged us 250,000 VND per person because we had “stayed in a friend’s room.” Yes – we were charged extra for finding a safe place to sleep in an emergency. We couldn’t believe what we were hearing. After everything – the fear, the danger, the sleepless night, and the complete absence of help – the resort still found a way to profit from our panic. They even said, “Well, you did stay from noon to evening, it was only a few hours you didn’t use the room,” as if our trauma meant nothing. When we asked to speak to the night staff to confirm our story – silence. When our friend who hosted us stood up to testify – they simply said, “The manager makes the decisions, we can’t interfere.” We asked to speak directly to the manager – they refused to connect the call. All our fear, distress, and ruined night were met with cold indifference – and a twisted attempt to make money off of it. I’m not asking for anything unreasonable – just a safe night and some support when things go wrong. But at this place, what did we get instead? A bat. Sleepless hours. A terrifying night. And silence when we needed help the most. BE CAREFUL if you’re planning to stay here. We paid 1.9 million – not for a room, but for disappointment, fear, and anger.
